The walls of the fortress are strong, yet over time they have begun to crack under heavy use. We did not want to erase these wounds, but to highlight them, using the ancient Japanese kintsugi technique. In its philosophy it carries the possibility and aesthetics of decency and imperfection. Wounds and traumas are a natural part of our lives, which only make us stronger and more resilient. These scars make us unique and more beautiful while telling stories.
KINTSUGI (“golden joinery”), also known as kintsukuroi (“golden repair”), is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the areas of breakage with lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum.
