Who is responsible for the fall of Ikaros? Daedalus, who invented wings, or the boy who soared too high with his ambition? The Greek myth is perhaps the first written story that makes us think that an invention can be a double-edged sword if not used well by humanity. In my creation, I am looking for answers to this question. The tragedy of Icarus has been adapted by many in many different images: Ovidius, Pieter Bruegel, Anthony van Dyck and many others. The picture goes beyond the framework of traditional painting. I applied feathered wax to the picture, which is a hommage of Joseph Beuys on the one hand. So let everyone decide for themselves: should we put the feathers on the boy’s back or take them down for innovation?
